Many eye a flight to a warm tropical destination to relax after a grueling ten-month racing season that culminated with the NHRA Finals in Southern California on Nov. 17, but not newly crowned four-time NHRA Top Fuel world champion Antron Brown. The 80-time NHRA winner will get plenty of Florida sun this offseason and find comforts behind the wheel of a Lexus RCF Procharger-powered Pro Mod as Brown will compete in the Drag Illustrated Winter Series of events at Bradenton Motorsports Park.

Continuing to develop unique marketing and promotional relationships Professional Racers Owners Organization (PRO), the driving force behind the 2nd annual SCAG Power Equipment Superstar Shootout, February 6-8, 2025, today announced a wide-ranging cross-promotional program focusing on media exposure and racing exhibitions with Sick the Mag. The PRO Superstar Shootout will highlight select drag-and-drive competitors in exhibition races during the star-studded three-day event. Sick the Mag will promote the Superstar Shootout during Sick Week from January 27 - February 1, 2025, encouraging fans and participants to attend the event. In one of the closest races in recent history, Top Fuel driver and motorsports legend Tony Stewart was named the 2024 NHRA Rookie of the Year in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.

Eight years after winning his third NHRA Top Fuel world championship, Antron Brown secured his fourth NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series title Sunday afternoon during eliminations at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals. Brown eliminated two of the other four drivers in contention before winning his semifinal match to clinch the first world championship for AB Motorsports. He then went on to win the season finale at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, earning his 80th career Wally counting victories in Pro Stock Motorcycle and Top Fuel.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a single-engine plane crashed into the Pomona Dragstrip pit area during Sunday's NHRA finale. The plane was attempting to land at a nearby airfield when the crash occurred.

A week after starting the 2024 NHRA Countdown to the Championship with a win at Maple Grove Raceway, Antron Brown charged to another victory Sunday afternoon at the NHRA Carolina Nationals. Now the winningest Top Fuel driver at zMAX Dragway with seven victories, Brown also took over the points lead on his way to defeating Doug Foley in the final round. It was Brown’s fifth national event win of the season and the 79th of his career, counting Pro Stock Motorcycle and Top Fuel event titles. With four races left in the Countdown, Brown is chasing his fourth world championship and the first for AB Motorsports.

The Scrappers Racing team announced today that they will bring out a second car and driver at the upcoming NHRA Midwest Nationals. Julie Nataas, the current NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Top Alcohol Dragster world champion, will make her Top Fuel debut as part of the Scrappers Racing team alongside fellow Top Fuel driver Jasmine Salinas and Pro Stock Motorcycle’s Jianna Evaristo when the team competes at St. Louis’s World Wide Technology Raceway later this month.
