The Red Line Synthetic Oil Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) announced today its eight-race 2025 schedule, coming after a successful campaign through the 2024 calendar year. The series will return to the six familiar racetracks throughout the East Coast and Midwest that they ventured to in 2024 yet again, starting at GALOT Motorsports Park and finishing at Virginia Motorsports Park, as in years past.

The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is proud to announce the appointment of Kenny Nowling as the new President, effective immediately. The announcement was made by IHRA Owner and CEO, Larry Jeffers, who expressed great confidence in Nowling’s leadership and vision for the future of the sanctioning body.

The longstanding 3-second barrier in Extreme Pro Stock fell Friday night when Mountain Motor Pro Stock rookie Randi Lyn Butner recorded a 3.997-second, 176.37 MPH pass in the second qualifying session at the PDRA Pro Line Racing Brian Olson Memorial World Finals presented by ProCharger. Butner’s pass down the Virginia Motorsports Park eighth mile with husband Bo Butner in the opposite lane marked the first official 3-second pass in Liberty’s Gears Extreme Pro Stock presented by AED Competition. Butner is also the provisional No. 1 qualifier at the last of eight races on the 2024 Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series tour.

Major shakeups at the most recent race on the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series tour led to big moves at the top of the Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous points standings with just one race left in the season. The top three drivers – Fredy Scriba, Jim Halsey, and Tommy Franklin – are separated by less than one round going into this weekend’s Pro Line Racing Brian Olson Memorial World Finals presented by ProCharger, Oct. 17-20, at Virginia Motorsports Park. It’s just one of the numerous championship battles that will be decided in the series’ professional, sportsman, and Jr. Dragster categories.

Reigning Pro Boost world champion Jason Harris took over the points lead in WS Construction Pro Boost presented by P2 Contracting and Ty-Drive Saturday night when he earned his second consecutive win of the season. In a side-by-side 3.62-second final round against Todd “King Tut” Tutterow, Harris turned on the win light by five thousandths of a second to claim the ProFabrication PDRA DragWars presented by PST Driveshafts event win. It was a rematch of the final round at the 2024 Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series season opener at GALOT Motorsports Park, as well as the first GALOT win for the Pittsboro, North Carolina, native.

It’s been just over one month since the last stop on the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series tour, so the professional, sportsman, and Jr. Dragster racers of the PDRA are eager to get back on track this weekend at the ProFabrication DragWars presented by PST Driveshafts, Oct. 3-5, at GALOT Motorsports Park. It’s the second GALOT race of the season, and as the penultimate race on the eight-race 2024 PDRA schedule, DragWars is a pivotal point in the battle for world championships.

For the first time in the 10-year history of the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series, the all-eighth-mile series will head to Tennessee’s Bristol Dragway this weekend for the Thunder Valley Throwdown. Set for Aug. 22-24, the Thunder Valley Throwdown is the sixth of eight championship events on the 2024 PDRA schedule. All 14 of the PDRA’s professional, sportsman, and Jr. Dragster divisions will be in competition at the legendary track known as “Thunder Valley.”

Racing in front of a packed house at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park, Johnny Camp charged to his first WS Construction Pro Boost presented by P2 Contracting and Ty-Drive event win in over two years Saturday evening at the PDRA Northern Nationals presented by Talbert Manufacturing. Held in conjunction with the track’s 23rd Northern Nationals presented by Gun Lake Casino, the fifth of eight races on the 2024 Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series tour saw a mix of first-time winners and world champions park their hot rods in the FuelTech Winner’s Circle.

For the second consecutive year, the stars of the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series will take part in one of the most anticipated drag racing events in the Midwest. The PDRA Northern Nationals presented by Talbert Manufacturing, Aug. 1-3, will once again join forces with U.S. 131 Motorsports Park’s 23rd Northern Nationals presented by Gun Lake Casino. Along with the PDRA’s numerous professional, sportsman, and Jr. Dragster categories, the race weekend will feature modern Top Fuel dragsters, nostalgia front-engine Top Fuel, nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars, a Fuel Altered, jet cars and more.

With fireworks lighting up the sky and nitro fumes and jet smoke still filling the air, nitrous Pro Modified veteran Fredy Scriba celebrated his first career Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous victory Saturday night at Virginia Motorsports Park’s PBR Night of Fire. Racing in the fourth annual Summit Racing Equipment PDRA ProStars all-star specialty event, Scriba defeated three-time and defending world champion Tommy Franklin in the final round to secure the $15,000 check, a custom ProStars trophy, and bragging rights. Though championship points weren’t on the line, the ProStars race marked the halfway point in the 2024 Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series season.

After eight races of intense competition, racers from several categories in the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series will head to Virginia Motorsports Park to battle it out for prize money and bragging rights in the 4th Annual PDRA Pro Stars all-star event. This year, the event will be held in conjunction with VMP's PBR Night Of Fire on Saturday, July 13.

Virginia Motorsports Park and the PDRA Drag Racing Series have teamed up with the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) for the world’s leading bull riding organization to become the naming rights partner of the upcoming PBR Night of Fire event July 12-13 at the Dinwiddie, Virginia based facility.
